This guitar harmoniously blends a resonant ash body with Custom Shop hand-wound '55 Stratocaster pickups, delivering the rich resonance, crisp attack, and shimmering top end that have elevated early-era Strats to the status of highly coveted instruments. While the vintage Synchronized Tremolo and classic tuners maintain a nod to the past, Sweetwater's performance-oriented players appreciate the departure from the retro norm in the neck design. Unlike the traditional round radius and speed-bump frets of Leo Fender's early designs, the '56 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic boasts a 1-piece flat-sawn maple soft "V" neck with a player-friendly setup of 21 medium-vintage frets on a compound 7.25–9.5-inch radius. The ultra-thin Journeyman Relic flash-coat lacquer finish completes the package, resulting in a world-class Strat that competes head-to-head with any creation from the Fullerton factory!
